Currently anticipating a release of his third collaborative effort towards a studio EP (Baldwins – Fear of Flying), and ensuing east coast tour, Saxophonist, Composer and Producer Alex Jasprizza is an improvising musician who takes his diverse and rich musical training into a wide range of musical projects.
After his lengthy education from a young age as part of Gondwana Choirs and associated performances at established concert halls across the country, Alex later went on to continue his studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in 2014.
Sydney Based and Inner-West local Alex spends his time heavily involved and engaged in an array of musical projects, from small ensemble improvised music and jazz groups – such as his Trio and duet work with pianist Felix Bornholdt, electronic based solo and duet groups (LIO//FAN, Kaizio), to the eight-piece progressive soul outfit, The Baldwins. Amongst these groups he divides his time performing and recording at venues across the Sydney Metropolitan region and the surrounding regions.
Alex’s involvement in these projects has given him the opportunity to perform at such venues as the Sydney Opera House, Venue 505, Freda’s, City Recital Hall, FBi Social Club, The Hudson Ballroom and the Verbrugghen Hall (Sydney Conservatorium of Music) amongst countless others.
Drawing from his experiences as a musician within the Sydney music community and his experiences abroad in various contexts, Alex creates a vast range of music that encompasses styles of Jazz, Electronic, Soul, Experimental, Noise and Art Music forms.
